A bad day at the races is better than a good day anyplace else!
Welcome to my journal...Happy Reading!
& WarmThis has been a hectic week at work. This is our busy time of the month. We finally got everything mailed this morning. That's a relief every month. Now we can start the process all over again!
A couple of days this week, I actually left work shortly after 5:00. I think my boss was confused! I'm normally here longer, on the internet, since I don't have a computer at home. Right now, we have a summer hour program in place. You can work extra hours and get additional days off. That's fine, if you haven't been at the company as long as I have. I already get 30 days off a year and don't need any more! Since I don't want to participate in the summer hours and I'm not sure if I can get overtime instead, I left work even though there were things here I could have worked on. I think next week, we're going to find out more about the summer hours/OT situation.
Also, we are in the middle of a long pay period right now. We got paid on Friday, June 13. We won't get paid again until Monday, June 30. So that's three weekends. I hate those three weekend pay periods. It feels like an eternity before you get paid again, so I'll be so happy when Monday gets here!
I wish we got paid every two weeks instead of twice a month (on the 15th and the last day of the month).
Looking forward to some good racing tomorrow.
The Hollywood Gold Cup is being run in California, with several good horses. Also, Proud Spell is running at Belmont tomorrow. She's the filly that won the Kentucky Oaks on the Friday before the Derby. This is her first start since then. There are only three other fillies going against her, so it looks like she scared off a lot of the competition. I'll be shocked if she doesn't win!
